Nursery facilities

Our facilities cater for children aged 3 months to 5 years. The large toddler and pre-school room is divided into a story corner, circle time area, arts and crafts area, writing area, construction area, sleeping area and the home corner. The toilet facilities cater for both toilet-trained and non-toilet-trained children.

There is an outdoor play area for the sole use of the nursery.

Parents dropping off or picking up their child may use the community centre car park.

Babies
Our baby room is well equipped to encourage learning through play. A cosy area is provided where the babies are read stories and can play with soft and sensory toys. Each baby is encouraged to develop through creative and sensory activities. The babies have a dedicated sleep room where they are supplied with their own bedding, and there is a fully equipped changing station.

Toddlers

The focus for toddlers, aged up to three years old, is on learning through play. Toddlers make full use of the creative areas, a reading corner, circle time area and a home corner.

Pre-school

Pre-school children follow the ‘foundation stage’ preparing them for their eventual move to school. This is a more structured routine, with children working in groups and becoming accustomed to paying attention for longer periods of time while undertaking monthly topics, based on the six areas of learning: physical development; personal, social and emotional development; language and literacy; creative development; knowledge and understanding of the world; and mathematics.
